I've been pleasantly surprised at how many people have whispered/paged to me on more than one MUCK to compliment the text description of Bora, "cumulonimbus leo". I don't fancy myself as much of a writer, but when inspiration strikes I suppose I don't do too badly. That inspiration, from whatever mysterious source it rises, is crucial. I may have an idea for a description for months, sometimes years, before I feel like I can put it down and hammer it out. A revision or two later and I've got something I can be reasonably satisfied with, and something that I hope evoke what I want a reader to envision but embellish it with their own imagination.
