I received a request for a pair of leather feather earrings, and after making a couple of pairs, discovered that they're really fun to make! For some reason, I LOVE working small. It feels like more of an accomplishment when I finish something tiny :3
The barn owl feathers are only 1.5 inches, and the phoenix feathers are only an inch! If you're interested, both sets are available:

I can do custom earrings, too, if anyone is interested. :) They are $15 plus shipping.

I'm in the same boat as you....currently at at 10G.
Willing to bet if you have 12G hoops, like a captive bead hoop or something similar, you could request to just have a jump ring to attach them to the hoops, rather than the French hook?
(Interested in the response myself, actually.... ;3)

Hmm, that's a good question! I have 'clasp' earrings that look like the one on the bottom here: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PhFx1msRZ.....20Findings.jpg It clasps in on itself so it wouldn't slip right out like a regular hook earring.
