Idle No More Providence, RI Round Dance Drumming 2
In the center of Providence, RI many local American Indians came together to do a flash mob. We began drumming, singing, and dancing. It was a peaceful protest. Others held up banners with words such as "This is Indian Land" and "Support Indigenous Sovereignty."

Idle No More is a grassroots movement started by Indigenous Canadians protesting Bill C-45 in Canada which would allow the government to take control of tribal lands bypassing treaties, as well as further pollute the land and waters that many Indigenous Canadians have relied on. It also stands in solidarity with Chief Theresa Spence who has been on a hunger strike for nearly a month now, demanding an audience with Prime Minister Harper and a representative of the queen to discuss the various issues surrounding Native communities and their relationship with the government. Idle No More is not just about Indigenous Canadians however, it is in defense of all native peoples in the Americas to defend land rights and the better treatment of the governments with Indigenous Americans.

You forgot to mention that Chief Spence still has to answer for the poverty-stricken conditions on her reserve, while her and her common law husband collect $270k a year. Her people are on a forced hunger strike because they can't afford food or adequete housing, but shes certainly got plenty of both. The audit isn't looking good for her with millions of dollars unaccounted for due to no paper work, or due diligence on her part and she has now secluded herself and refuses to answer questions about where any of that money went.
Idle No More has some great arguments and points, but Teresa Spence is not one of them.
Give both sides of the story.
