You really captured her devil may care attitude.
I agree that shorter hair works better with her mask concept. I do however call upon the awesome power of comic book logic. Her extra locks just don't show while she is in uniform. Sort of like how Harley Quinn has a skin tight suit but can still draw a novelty sized gun out when she needs it.
