Just a suggestion but maybe you could do something with that bass in terms of compressing it/adjusting the compressor! It'll even out the sound and prevent it from dying out as quickly. Try dipping the threshold pretty aggressively and slowing the release down. You can look up things like series compression which works well for a big, low heavy bass like most djent calls for!
well you can still compress it to get it a bit more even sounding. As for compressor settings you can go for anywhere between 3db reduction all the way up to 12db reduction, more if it's needed. But if you set the attack pretty quickly, 0.1ms if you want a more flat result and up to 30ms if you want a little punch left. For the release I'd have to say 100-150ms, though adjust that to ear so it doesn't fade too quickly or go on unnecessarily. As for ratio I've always kept my bass comp at 4:1, seems to work for me. But granted I'm no audio engineer, check everything by ear!
And I meant series compression. I don't know if people use parallel compression on bass but I use parallel comp on my drums. Anyways series compression on the bass pretty much runs like this, set up a compressor that acts only on those big spikes. with a fast attack and higher ratio to help curb those high spikes (which the bass is prone to since it's basic shape is FUCKLOTSOFSOUND that rapidly deflates to fuckall). And right after that compressor on the effects loop you set up another one that basically holds the level, a slower ratio with a slower release and that should flatten everything right out.
Though be warned, and I'm as guilty as the next person, but you can really easily overcompress things when you start slamming series compression on shit.
