Here's an updated picture of Visseka, again done by  aggro_badger, hard work repairing or modifying some sort of generator. I figured I'd include a little more history this time.

Selonia is one of the planets in the Correllia system, and is inhabited by a species of mustelids resembling large otters or ferrets. Generally bipedal, they can run on all fours as well. They are organized into various clans due to their unusual gender make up. Approximately one in a hundred Selonians are male and one in five hundred are fertile females. The remaining are infertile females.
Selonians are generally insular and like to minimize contact with other spaces. Those that do leave their homes to deal with outsiders are almost exclusively infertile females, as the others are considered too vital to risk leaving.

Visseka is one such lady. She trained at the Selonian Spaceport to become an engineer, during which time she was able to get used to being around non-selonians (although she has a great inherent distrust toward anyone she hasn't known long. As well, being from a largely subterranean society, she suffers from agoraphobia, but finds the often cramped quarters inside ships and engine compartments suits her well.

After graduating, her clan decided to send her out to into the broader reaches of the galaxy to search for new technologies and things that would be beneficial back home. However, while she was away, a change of leadership resulted in her mission being cancelled, and her allowance gone. She was given the option to return to Selonia or to continue on her own merits. She chose to do the latter, hiring on as freighter mechanic and continuing to tour the galaxy.
