It's not that this is terrible or anything, but it is that it's not a song. It's not proof that "anyone" is doing what you do.

But there's another side to this entirely you've both overlooked I think. Computerized, electronic music is something "anyone" can do. In fact, "anyone" CAN play a Beethoven symphony on piano, but the skill curve is a lot higher. Does the man feel that the democratization of music and art is negative?

I went to art school, learned the professional critique, lived with an operatic singer most of my life. I COULD slice this five seconds of tripe every which way, and depending on how charitable I was feeling, could say great or terrible things about it that would all be critically accurate. Right now though, that's not a song, which is pretty much like his advice and life lessons. He's giving them out, but they aren't complete.

The thing with him is just if it isn't the most amazing thing ever done it's apt to be chopped down. His view on my music put in lame terms is this: I have not gone to school for it, I have no degree in it, therefore I have no right to make it. I'm just tired of being chopped down for my music and other traits in my personality he feels are not conducive to his outlook on how I should live my life, but, on a closer analysis, it's my life, not his. The mistakes are mine to make and learn from, so let me make them, let me learn, and for f- not going to curse, but just accept that you and I are two different people. Not that I could ever tell him that.

Well, I'd say to quit looking for support there and to quit sharing your interests with him... but obviously, I dunno if you are or if he's just snooping and finding you out.

He is not actively sharing his music, in fact he attempts to go to great lengths to avoid interacting with his uncle at ALL. His uncle just....is an ass.

Yeah, I know his uncle's an ass. But y'know, sometimes people try to bring other people around by sharing what they do, and I'm just saying, if that's the case... abort, abort, abort!

Headphones, passwords, encryption... I hate to say it, but Yagami may need to start taking more extreme measures.

Oh, I haven't shared any interests with him in quite some time; he picks at things long since past.

Whenever your uncle comes up, I just wonder to myself how he's made it all this time without pissing off the wrong guy in a bar somewhere... I mean, I know a chunk of that is me being from Los Angeles and all, but still.

Simple, he doesn't insult others in public. XD
