I both loved and hated the game. You could get 99% done and some pirate scores a lucky shot and presto! You're on fire and stuff.

Final boss phase 2 spams drones and you are ether dead, or just scrap by it and then finish it off.

It's kinda sad that even with the beam re balance and the like, it's still comes down towards the final boss being the only real 'threat'.

For me, it's the goddamn teleporters that I hate.

And not one fuck was given that day...

Killing the end boss with the Kestrel cruiser was a real highlight. The teleporter made it possible. Beamed over into their weapons compartments! Since there's only one guy in the compartment and no access from the rest of the ship, it's much easier to take them out. Of course dodging all the crap the flagship launches at you while your invasion crew are busy is another story...

Oh yes, we won the war, but the Kestrel was punched full of holes and only the captain and weapons officer survived. The boarding party went down with the flagship....
