Your lion heads are awesome =D Currently making one o.O Manes are pretty difficult.

Rock out on your cat! I layer a crapton of fur in the manes. there has to be about 3/4 yard of fur just in the mane alone.
For manes, I take strips of foam, glue em to the back of my martial arts helmets I use. Next I take strips of fur and glue them to the top side of the foam. It pushes the fur strip out in kind of a curve. when layered, it makes the mane look fuller and when the person walks around in it, kinda bounces a bit for movement.
