It is a common occurance that the shorter lived species develop an interest in my unique design, and seek to draw me. Unfortunately, they tend to view the world in the narrow standpoint of their personal physiologies.
I do not possess the fragile and complex ocular organs that many smaller creatures tend to have. Mine have a simple but sturdy structure similar to that of gemstones, though the lovely shade of purple this artist used is quite correct.

I think the reason many artists draw you with eyes like that is because eyes with pupils are generally easier to show emotions with.
Even in the pictures that get your eyes right, the highlights are often used to indicate where you're looking, because it makes the picture easier for us to "read".

It's not your problem, and it's definitely a bit narrow-minded, artistically.
Personally, I like the challenge of using the rest of the face and body to show emotion, to the point where one of my OCs has to rely entirely on body language, visually, since he's a literal reanimated skeleton.
