Exhausted from his long trip, Kimari had decided that it would be best to set up camp in the cave. Ravenous, he opened his pack, and pulled out what was left of a loaf of bread. It wasn't nearly enough to satisfy him, but it was enough to keep him from going hungry. He stared out into the wilderness from the protection of his cave, and gazed out over his progress. He began to think to himself that he had explored most everywhere, and the views were beginning to look the same to him. Hundreds of miles, and staying primarily self subtenant, gave him a little too much enjoyment of the wilderness.
Kimari, still with a fairly big appetite, still needed to fill himself up. He left the fire going in his cave, and headed back into the brush. His stomach giving up a growl, as he sat couched in the bushes, waiting for his dinner to come past. Patiently letting minutes go by, he held his stomach and hoped for the main course to scamper down the forest floor. Taking another look through the brush, he saw what he needed, a rabbit, but this one was being chased by a strange white fox, like he had never seen.
He let the rabbit run a little closer, before popping out at the vermin, and snagging it by the ears. The rabbit was terrified, no surprise there, but the fox, on the other hand, wasn't letting his meal get away. The white fox jumped towards Kimari, who then batted the creature away, making it hit a tree. Kimari took his prize back to the cave, to finally fill himself up after a long day of venturing through the unknown. He promptly prepared the rabbit, and ate.
The moon was rising of the horizon, and night was falling fast. Kimari noticed that the moon was unusually bright that night, but he tossed the suspicions aside, and just enjoyed it. He bundled up some of his things, and tried to fashion something soft to lay his head on. He brought himself to the rocky floor and tried to doze off, but fate had other plans for him that evening...
He heard a drumming rumbled nearby where he slept, instantly waking him up. Kimari sprang to his feet, and prepared himself. He saw no threat, but through a hole that suddenly ruptured the cave, he saw a light. Curious, Kimari peaked into the hole, to see a ledge, a ledge that looked over a spectacular scene. It was a place the Kimari had only heard rumors of, but now he actually saw one with his own eyes. He pulled the rest of his body through the crevice, and gazed upon it. A large, white column of pure light was erecting from the cave's floor. It was a spirit gateway.
Kimari climbed down to the light, and gazed, awestruck, by his discovery. He stood only a few feet away from the column now, but he still had no idea about what he would be able to do to it. Curious, Kimari to a step forward, followed by another, before eventually walking in a fill pace into the light. He pressed his body into the unique surface, and before he realized it, he was standing, literally, in the middle of nowhere.
He looked around in every direction, but he could see nothing but an empty plane in its entirety. Kimari took a step sight ahead, and continued walking. His pace was immeasurable due to the lack of perspective. Endlessly walking in what seemed to be the same spot, Kimari began to fall victim to depression. Still he moved onward, but the last fragment of hope he had was rapidly vanishing. however, that fragment was all he needed to succeed in his endeavor, for he found a strange artifact.
Kimari picked a strange mask off the floor. It was relatively normal, except the piece was glowing in certain areas, making some sort of strange markings. When he picked it up, he felt a chill run down his spine, and his hands felt a bit weak. Kimari wondered about the mask, for it was unlike anything he had seen before, but then he realized... He wished to go to a land he had never heard of. Still unsure, Kimari lifted the curious mask, and cautiously pulled it over his face. He instantly felt a rush, and his vision was blurred out by a bright light.
He felt like he was hurdling hundreds of miles an hour, but he also had a sickening feeling inside of him, and other strange sensations everywhere else. He felt his stomach do a couple of nauseating loops as he felt like his insides were rearranging themselves. Ready to pass out, he thought he was hallucinating when he began to here voices. "Kimari, a spirit has decided to grant your wish, but an angry spirit for that matter. I wish you luck in you new life..." said the voice before it trailed off. Kimari awoke with a brutal aching, and lying inside of a cave.
Incredibly groggy, Kimari got to his feet, and struggled not to stumble. He felt like he was on fire, so he made his way to a tiny puddle of water to cool himself off. He toppled over, and crawled to the puddle. Confused, in pain, and nauseated, Kimari was thankful for the water, but he didn't expect that he would find something in his reflection. A white wolf, red markings, a pair of breasts, Kimari fell backwards with disbelief. He picked himself up again, and walked to the mouth the cave. The world around him had done a 180, and nothing was the same about before. He went back to the puddle to get a drink, before hearing a voice in his/her head "Next time, don't steal my rabbit, Amaterasu."
