Cool! I'm trying to design a R Ship myself, any pointers?

Well, the only thing all R-Type ships have in common is that oval shaped cockpit/canopy, the rest is up to the designer. :o

O.O spectacular splendid homage to one of the greatest shooters of our time but in R-Type Final there was 1 force unit that was very frightening and looked like a spike ball shooting needles all around (almost made you invincible with that one)

R-Type III is definitely among the best in the series.

Ship was such overkill that they had to tone it down in Final and split some of it's abilities to other ships XD And then they proceeded to make Ragnarok II with it's Giga Wave Cannon which is even greater overkill!

LOL, the only ship more broken than that was the Ragnarok II... "MAH WAVE CANNON GOES TO BYDO-LEVEL, AND SLOWS -EVERYTHING- DOWN."

Am I the only one who has a dirty enough mind to see how suggestive this is?

You mean the ship's phallic shape? XD

You're not far from wrong; if I recall well the final boss in R-Type Delta is an ovum cell that shoots out waves of spermatozoids at you, and second level boss in R-Type III (in Japanese version) is a wall of flesh protected by waves of flying sperms (in import versions they were replaced by flying eyeballs with nerves as tail)

Which one? You'll have to be more specific, there's been a ton of Pokemon episodes that have been banned outside of Japan XD

Thank GAWD I'm not the only one who saw that.

The Ragnarok may not be overpowered anymore but there is still one fighter in the Ragnarok series that still is very overpowered even before you go to the Ragnarok II. The Strike Bomber with its mega wave cannon which mirrors the Ragnaroks original 2 loop wave cannon in R-TYPE III. At loop 2 it one shots nearly every boss and since it passes through walls it does multiple hits.

R-Type Command is hard.

Man... this makes me want to play R-type final again. That game was fun and all but, to unlock everything took forever.

too bad R-Type Final finished the series by making you unlock all types of Ships forces and weapon systems never to be seen again
