Week 4 Auction Piece!
My lovey raccoon, Der, featured as the lead from "Dishonored".
I love the way Nana did this piece, and the fact that she got his tail stripes right. :3 Love, love, love -- all the way!

Not HERE. And if you read the comments, you'll see that I am not the artist, and I want the favorites/comments/etc to go to the woman who worked so hard to bring this about. I DO have a link posted so that viewers can visit the original and fave/comment there. :) I just don't want to take credit for art that's not mine.
Nonetheless, the artist deserves recognition, credit, and the comments/faves. If someone wants to favorite here, or comment here, fine, but if it's to do with the art, I'd much prefer they at least do so over on the artist's post as well. And for this piece, or others where the character isn't mine either, I'd ask that they comment on the character owner's post of the image if they want to talk about the character. An artist, owner, etc shouldn't have to sort through all the other postings of their images to see what people are saying, and I shouldn't get the favorites that are due to the artist when it's her work. Regardless of what's widely accepted, people have become lax about making sure artists are given the credit they deserve, and when it's a piece you enjoy, that they worked on with you, I don't see why you shouldn't try to make sure they get the recognition they deserve.
Firetally is a very talented artist, and she was a doll to work with on these images. I'm happy she enjoyed my commissions as much as I enjoyed seeing them come to life... but simply because I gave the parameters and paid for it doesn't mean I should get all the attention. If someone likes the art, I want her to gain them as a watcher, commissioner, friend, etc. If someone likes the character, I'd much prefer my mate heard about it on his own page and was able to start a conversation.
The title and comment are simply an attempt to push favoriters/commenters toward visiting the initial post and placing their methods of praise/critique/etc there.
Even if the art were (CC) in licensing, credit is due to the original posting. Just because the bulk of others brush that aside and the origins get lost in mass useage doesn't mean the person who put the initial effort behind a project shouldn't be acknowledged, or that people shouldn't try to send viewers their way...
To me, it is simply the courteous/polite, ethically/morally proper, and friendly thing to do. She makes her living off of images like this -- why shouldn't I help her out if I can?
So maybe it seems to be an odd personal choice, but even if I had a meme I'd participated in, if I could find the origin thereof, I'd post that as well.
Credit given where credit due, that's all it is.
