digi-panda's Tiburon again, this time with ballpoint lines and limited bp shading(tattoos, pants). Note to self; Colored pencils are godly awesome for shading over a finished bp sketch

Heehee, thank you very much ^w^ I don't remember all the details of how I get here but what I can say for certain is it starts and often finishes with a direction and a few simple shapes. I started with his shoulders(a slightly curved line going across the upper portion of the page, leaving enough room to draw a head and neck) and in the center of that line I started a line for his back(A shape kind of like an uneven '>'). His entire upper body is pretty much an upside-down triangle with a bunch of other details piled on top, his head is a slightly rounded square with a slightly rounded rectangle sticking out of it to make the snout, and most of his torso is triangles pointing down while the part of his butt that's showing is a rounded triangle pointing up. I hope this stuff helps ^.^
Heehee, I'm glad you like it ^U^ If I remember correctly the pencils are 'prismacolor' brand and they have some kind of wax mixed in. I don't have a lot of them left but at one point years back I went for a 100 some odd piece set. Some of it was useful but not all of it- At least 3 or 4 shades of blue turned out unuseful to me as with several other colors. For a more economic solution I recommend figuring out what colors you use most and going to a craft store like Micheal's to buy just those few colors individually.
Oh,I remember I got some prismacolor pencils from a relative as a gift,but I didn't want 'em cus I'm no good with colored pencils!lol VwV;
We got a Micheals over here,but I go to another store around the area called Blick.It's got things at a cheaper price. .u.
Nobody really likes gettin' the cheaper stuff,but imo I think they work really great haha.

Ah yes, one really important difference to note is that sharpies tend to have a lot of ink- In my experience they take something like twice as long to run out as fancier brands. I'm actually allergic to them to some extent(Irritation of the eyes nose and thoat after breathing the air around them while coloring) but I still respect the brand a lot -nod- I hope you find lots of useful markers, and don't forget to try mixing media if you can't find certain colors. I find that Ballpoint pen makes the absolute best lines, colored pencil makes the best skin/fur most of the time, and marker is great for clothing/eyes/hair(especially brown).
Oh dang,must suck!I kinda got nothing to worry about,ain't allergic to anything.V.V;
I usually use markers,since I feel my scanner picks the colors up better.My scanner washes out and kinda messes a lot of things up for me.;w;
And thanks for the tips,I'll be sure to try 'em!My friend's told me the same thing about ballpoint pens,he keeps tellin' me they're the best at everything!Kinda am thinking that,really like the line work it gives in art!.u.

The allergies aren't that big of a thing, it's not like being Sharpie-less is the biggest issue to my drawing style anyways ^_^ On to pens, I've heard a few people say gel pens are better for inking than ballpoints but I've never had such results with them. Some people also like rollerball pens but I've found that they have way too loose of a grip on the paper. The main thing with ballpoint is that the ink comes out in small enough amounts that you can use pressure to control the shade and some of the width, where other pens don't offer such a responsive touch -nod-
