Happy New Year's everybody! I hope that everyone can ring in the new year with someone that they love!
I wanted to start off this year with something a little different. Usually when I think of a festive image, I think of something with a lot of color. But I started thinking how that can feel out of place when we think of a party that requires formal attire. And while I was finishing the lineart for them, I came up with an idea that could be interesting. Instead of a saturated image, why not create one that had a more subtle color scheme. I was inspired a bit by black and white photography that has some splashes of color in it, and by some of my favorite artists who work mostly with more desaturated colors.
I also changed my workflow for painting on this image, and it sped up the process considerably.
So, let me know if I succeeded or not in creating this.
