Our zoo's 46 year old white rhinoceros died on December 26th after a battle with kidney disorders. Dawn and I went yesterday, mostly because we always go at Christmastime, but also to pay respects. That rhino had been there since we were little and she was awesome. Her entire exhibit had been cleaned except for the little mud patch she was always rolling in. These are her footprints. It was almost as if the keepers couldn't bring themselves to erase them.
