Rising Menace: Comic page 01
Gosh… after so many years, it’s done: another comic page from a possible graphic novel! ^^”
In fact, I was just playing around with one thought: What if I had the time to draw a new comic/graphic novel these days? How would it look like… with my latest skills?
Here you have it: the first page of my current story!
Okay, I’m note sure if I’m going to continue this… but in any case, it’s a start. :3
Anyway, enjoy the page!!
And yes, I’ve recycled some of my pencil drawings/portraits here… so what? They do their job well.
MEDIA USED:
Pencils, ink, markers, pens, acrylics and brush (NO digital colouring, except for the lettering!)

NOTE:
There have been some misunderstandings regarding Kyle's first three speech bubbles. Aside from the fact, that the original GERMAN version is much more clear, here is some help for you!
In the first two speech bubbles, Kyle is merely stating the obvious facts from the front. He's presenting the news in a cold way and he's kinda talking to himself, too. But in the third bubble he's clearly against these facts... and his will to stand his ground is expressed. It seems as if he were adressed by another person, but it's just a matter of his personal quarrel here.

My my, if I were there in person, I´ll check all the details of your real traditional work, because it´s AMAZING!!!
Damn, the coloring made the work more lively, there´s good balance between bright and dark, clear colors, and good contrasts in the composition.
Kyle´s armor, wow, the effect of the metal surface, so shiny ^ ^ I love it, And Reptile´s scales, I always mention it, but hell, I love them :D
Like I said before, the last frame is my favourite shoot, the aplication of the black in Kyle´s expression shows the rage and the determination of his decision. Very deep and emotional too, nice one man ;D
And by the way. Im really impressed that you decided to make a spanish version, very unusula from you, why is that? Was it your desicion, or grandragon´s request?
Anyway. More language you put in your comic, more watchers will appreciate more your character´s personality through their words.
About that, I can see that really want to eliminate the barbarians at any cost, even taking his men to the doom, that´s intense. But Reptile wanted to choose a way to avoid more deads and for the sake of Kyle and his men. That´s actually what Orion would suggest in a momment like that. But well, I don´t know too much the backgrounds of the barbarians and I can´t guess if they would agreed in Reptile´s suggestion.
I wonder if more forward, Kyle will make something that might regret it. Wow, this page creates a lot of questions without answers for those who think more deeply into it. You really catch my attention strongly XD
Hopefully we might see another page related with this someday. But for now, an impressive piece of work my friend, an impressive one ^ ^

I studied the expressions of Reptile... interesting how they're unique, subdued... not quite human; subtle. It makes him hard to read, emotionally at least in facial expression, and there wasn't enough full body in all frames for me to form any opinion of hand and body placements. Still, I see how you have a contrast in how he and humans interact, and I find that unique and interesting. I'd have called you on using a static, invariable reference for his face in every frame, but when I looked more carefully, I noticed indeed there were eye, brow, and lip variances that made him expressive, but nothing with a human direct analogue.
I think, without understanding Reptile's expressive repertoire, just mainly from the dialogue and the "?" reaction he has, that this obliteration decision is not going to sit well, despite this race not being scaly, and in my limited knowledge of this comic, not knowing whether Reptile personally or racially has any hatred for these barbarians.
The next page(s) will show us whether Reptile serves a higher moral standard of Justice above even bonds of friendship and loyalty, which is a very dramatic theme.
I think, without understanding Reptile's expressive repertoire, just mainly from the dialogue and the "?" reaction he has, that this obliteration decision is not going to sit well, despite this race not being scaly, and in my limited knowledge of this comic, not knowing whether Reptile personally or racially has any hatred for these barbarians.

In fact, Reptile and all his people ARE capable of showing/performing complex facial expressions. But this particular time and situation leaves Reptile rather speechless.
He is a loyal warrior and fierce fighter... but he is also a bit naive. He cannot comprehend the full complexity of the war and the struggle between man.
Also, he has never seen Kyle that determined and hateful... this makes him speechless, too... the pure void in this scene... almost... completely filled with Kyle's wrath... this is the only dominant emotion here.
Reptile learned to conseal the beast within... to keep his beastly nature under control... he became more calm and settle. ^_^
But yesssss... some facial twitches reveal a part of his feelings.
