Titan-II ICBM, photographed at the Titan-II Missile Museum near Tucson, Arizona. Had this as my wallpaper for months.
I am fascinated with the cold war and I've always had an unhealthy addiction to the concept of underground silo-launched transcontinental missiles carrying massive nuclear warheads. I think it's the unrivaled power that such an entity represents, that once the missile has cleared the tube, nothing short of mechanical malfunction or a really lucky shot from an ABM is going to stop it, and it's going to level a few cities.
The most powerful weapon is the one that strikes fear into the hearts of your enemies, simply because you possess it.
It's global thermonuclear warfare, and nobody wins. But maybe you can lose the least.
