recently I strolled over the christmas market/ fair in my hometown, and found these cookie cutters (?). So I brushed up on my kitchen skillz and got my mums cookie recipy out. Did some Furry related cookies then, lion style, rrawr. Need to train more, but my belly is full already ... next year then
Cookie dough recipy:
500gr/ 16oz flour (I used high fiber, so the cookies come out a bit darker. They are NOT overbaked!)
250gr/ 8oz sugar
250gr/ 8oz butter
3 eggs
spoonfull baking powder
(add vanilla, cinnamon, sliced almonds or whatever your taste and liking is)
work everything into a dough, let sit for a couple of hours. Sprinkle some flour on your kitschen counter and on the dough, and use a rolling pin to lay out the dough about 5mm/ .2in thick. Cut cookies and put them down on a baking tray (put some no-stick paper on first) Use a spoon or something and knock the paw cookie cutter gently to remove the dough. If you like a glossy surface, brush them with egg yolk before baking. Bake at 170°C/ 340°F for 10-15mins. For the pink glazing I used strawberry topping and powder sugar, mix up until very creamy and apply (takes a bit to harden) . For the lions mane I used chocolate glazing (applied with a small brush) and chocolate drips. Had more strawberry than chocolate glazing, so some lions became ... gay
Enjoy!
