Gonna end 2012 with a bang.
It all started when I saw a promo on The Hub where it was showing Dash racing with a new pony character (now named Lightning Dust) and that scene reminded me the nostalgic Sonic vs. Shadow rivalry going on, and gotten me inspired to draw these two after watching the Wonderbolt Academy episode. I guess you could say this takes place after the academy? =P

It was originally gonna be made by using vectors, but I wanna go all out, so pretty much everything you're looking at (including the background) in this fan art is hand-drawn, it's been a long time since I've done that.
