I originally was making this just a drawing of Fireheart but, then I wanted to add Volcan as well and this was the result.

The sword Volcan's holding is an old family treasure, forged almost 2,000 years ago for the purpose of killing Ice Phoenixes, for the Fire and Ice avians were at war. Fireheart is a Celtic blade, forged from Iron but imbued with the blood and powers of an elder Phoenix. It's design is revolutionary for the time period; it more closely resembles a Broadsword, a weapon that wouldn't be perfect for centuries after the make of this blade. It's designed to be used with one or two hands, and the flat, round pommel makes an excellent bludgeoning tool. To anyone not a Fire Phoenix the sword feels incredibly heavy, and the blade is always alit with light flames when it's drawn from its scabbard.

Volcan took the sword for himself after his Blade of Hou-Ou was shattered by Calhoun, and really, the heavy, double-edged blade suits him much more than a Katana.
