I've never been to the KESR. I live up near the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway and about 50 miles south of the much better known North York Moors Railway. It's nice to come across the occasional furry that's also a rail enthusiast, especially a British one.

I'm an engine cleaner (as you can imagine, it's part of the hierarchy to becoming a driver). Depending how busy I am, I join in with the Saturday Gang having experience in restoring engines instead of just learning to prepare, drive, and fire them.

Yeah, I know the general idea of how you get to be a driver. They have a similar chain in place on the NYMR. I take it you have to clear the fire and smoke box after a days work amongst other things? A dirty job that'll make a real mess of your fur. Hehehe!
