Well I don't know if that's a regional thing with you, but here, they're guns. Firearms too, but also guns. And although I'm not a big anti-gun nazi (my problem is with gun nuts more than guns themselves) I don't agree with wording something differently to ultimately lessen the impact.
just they why i grew up my old man was in the army and always told me if i called it a gun he would send me to school naked with a rifle to sing a song that goes "this is my gun this is my rifle. this is for fun and this is for hunting". and yeah i don't like gun nuts ether i own multiple firearms all for hunting
