This is the first Christmas in the apartment. With the new place there had to be a new tree. The old tree, which I only had for about 4 years, was simply too bloody big for the place, so I gave it to a friend who COULD use it.
The new tree is about as tall (6 1/2 feet as opposed to 7 1/2), but is way skinnier. WAY, WAY skinnier! I like it though. Besides, I don't have to take it apart and box it for storage- just bag it and set it in the garage. All my shopping and almost all of my wrapping is done for the year, with one or two gifts that will be mailed out. Those are under the tree right now. Despite hating losing the house, I think this is a better situation that I've found.
