Pony art that ISN'T porn! Hooray!

But seriously, that looks like some impressive work. Especially the cutiemark. That must've taken a really steady hand to keep the paint from smearing together.

I have indeed developed a very steady hand while using my metal crowquill pen to ink on those lines on that slick surface. I'm glad you like it!
Also, I limit my china art to G or PG status, due to the fact that the lady who fires my stuff is very conservative, and I don't want to shock her.

Yeah, I have to admire the skill. My hands shake a lot, mostly due to old injuries, so I can't paint or anything like that...

The "Isn't porn" comment was due to seeing a LOT of MLP related porn lately, which I find... distressing. I can tolerate a great deal of pornography, but My Little Pony is very definitely "off limits" in that regard, for me.

There's actually a ton of non-porn pony art on Equestria Daily; they ban the clopfic stuff there.

Yeah, I know. I also use derpibooru with safe filters on, which is good, too. But every now and then, something slips through... (Usually because some idiot forgot to properly tag an image when uploading it.)

As a pony fan, I don't like it when other pony fans actually play into the negative fandom stereotype of "They're all deviants and perverts!" Which is why I like when art like this mug shows up on the front page. It reminds me of the side of fandom I LIKE.

Yes. The deviants and perverts haven't taken over bronydom, or become the public face of it. It's one of the very few fandoms to ever escape that fate.

Me, I'm one of the rare few who actually saw their fanfic made into a (mostly true to spirit) episode. I'm far less interested in all the shipfics and more into character studies, which is what mine was essentially about.

Well, I'm okay with shipping... (I'm guilty of shipping Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, I'll admit.) It's when a large section of the internet seems intent on turning a children's show into pornography that my will to live suffers.

And for the record, I cannot visualize Fluttershy and Dash doing any more than kissing. I have -seen- porn of them, and still can't visualize more than kissing. (Small miracle that makes me think there may be a benevolent higher power after all...)

I like the character depth, the interactions and the cuteness, in that order. Though the cuteness is kind of inherent in the characters' personalities and interactions.

Awww. I wouldn't want to BAN shipfics. They have a place, and they sure as hell beat the porn. It's just that it's a well that far, far too many fanfic writers go to, and too many of them are just soft porn by another name.

(My own fanfic concerned Dash's "Day with the Wonderbolts" and was based off stories my father used to tell me about how the Blue Angels train. At the time, my OC, Skybuck, was Flight Lead of the Wonderbolts, and Spitfire was flying Solo position. I figured she'd take over Flight Lead once he retired. "Wonderbolt Academy" paralleled my story pretty closely...and that's the highest compliment any fanfic writer could ever be paid. )
