Matt Frank, aka KaijuSamurai @ Deviantart, renown artist of Godzilla comics featuring all sorts of kaiju, polished his design work of DragonLotus with this epic coloring job.
DragonLotus is a candidate character for the first release of the Kaiju Combat video game, the latest in a host of giant monster fighting video games. Using Aram as a starting point, I worked with Simon Strange and Matt Frank to evolve her design into a new unique character, DragonLotus. This included creating her back story, combat mechanics, and her look. The whole process was quite an awesome experience, and it will continue through release. There are elements of all 3 of us in her, and I'm proud to call her "my" kaiju! You can get all her design details at her Kaiju Combat wiki page, and even give feedback and join the discussion in the Sunstone Forums, where she has her own color art release thread and design discussion thread.
This game is not quite reality yet. With almost 1,000 backers it almost has the $100k worth of backing it needs in Kaiju Combat's Kickstarter Project. This is on top of the cash we backers fed the fledgling project to grow it into the little monster it has become. We have less than $5k more backing needed to fund the game and get the ball rolling on development, but we only have 3 more days to do it! Many of you watchers have chipped in a bunch already. It's time for the last few fence-sitters to take the plunge and give what you can. You'll get something in return, though! Just check out the pledge awards in the Kickstarter Project. Some of them include copies of the game when it comes out (or even before!). Plus, you can get your likeness in the game as part of some monster's story line, or any of a number of other cool bennies.
Thank you all who contributed thusfar! I have great hopes for this game as the next evolution in kaiju fighting games, or even fighting games in general. Please give it a look!
