Kalimantani the striped hyena (Hyaena hyaena. I wanted to use this drawing as practice of strong colored lighting, but as it developed and took on it's own 'mood', it became more an opportunity to just practice shadowing. The background is watercolor paint applied with a wet-on-wet technique, followed by a light sprinkling of kosher salt for added flavor. The hyena girl herself is mostly Copic marker except for the goldenrod color that makes up the foundation for her yellowish fur (this was a Prismacolor marker). With every drawing, I learn that there's so much... to learn!

Pretty and dangerous. I hope era of just white backgrounds ended because this looks awesome. I envy you such nice effect because any of my attempts never reached this. You must show me :3
A perspective of her left hand is a bit wicked. It follows laws about perspective in general but somehow it looks tricky(what happens.)
I am glad you finally made some bold shading and contrast. Unusual color combination gives it fresh breeze and makes this piece special in your gallery. The smirk is simply precious

Still in awe this is both traditional work and coloured with markers. Really shows the work gone into it and I didn't know that was how you worked until the stream, despite knowing of your art for years. Though I feel like someone with little art knowledge and only a passing interest in trying it for himself it was great to watch!
