I hate just about everything about it. Christmas was probably good once, but by the time I was born it was full of tacky garbage. I hate the music, I hate the ornaments--especially the 8 foot tall inflatable garden grinches--I detest the way my family treats wish lists (and the lack thereof). On top of that I learned that my aunt is a jerk, my grandmother was an alcoholic, and then she died (a year later, but still during the holiday season).
And now my parents are trying to find out what I do want, and honestly what I want them to do is to stop asking.

No, I never got socks and underwear.
More like asked for this (back when there were commercials for it on TV and I was into legos) and got this (well, something like it; I still have no idea WTF it was, but the closest I can come is "Star Trek knock off action figure movie set;" it had 8 inch tall pose-able action figures and a multi-sided cardboard backdrop in a sci-fi theme).
It's like "vaguely the same thing" but "not even close."
Two/three years ago (actually, no, it was...five? Six? I was still in college. Gives you an idea of how little I care about the holiday) my aunt sent presents. I got some cheap pens (micron pens; they're like $2 each) and a tin of tick-tacks. My sister got a bar of soap and like a CD or something equally valueless. My parents theorize that there was some other, larger, gift that never got sent.
