Ok funs over, time for some serious art. This is an oil painting I've finished in my art class. Simple idea of a Kirin posing around a tori gate baking in the morning sun. I'm quite pleased with how this turned out, I've really pushed myself from going dark in this painting choosing intead to have a white, misty look over all.
Some people say the kirin is scary looking, but I was hoping for a gentle face. The painting was inspired by the dragon in the movie Spirted Away. When he was bleeding and stuff I feel kind of sorry for him and wanted to huggle him. So here's my own huggable dragon <3

You art is getting seriously good now! The composition and colour seem to get better and better the more you practice. That would not look out of place for sale at a convention. The "washed out" effect of the colours make it actually LOOK Oriental in origin, and I can imagine it's an effect that must be hard to recreate with oils.
