The vest works well with the costume. Digeri and I are looking for a good leather vest to accessorize our characters. Thanks for sharing the photo.
I understand about the eyesight issues, since I wear lenses as well. I build my masks to accommodate lenses, such as the concept given below of my wolf mask in 2001.

Since then, I designed squared lenses with rough velcro super-glued on the sides of the lenses, so they will grip to the foam rubber in my masks. They are shown by the link below.

I am not sure if installing such lenses from old glasses could be done or even fit in your mask?
I also remembered another issue with lenses inside a moist, stuffy masks, which will be means to prevent the lenses from fogging up. For years, I have been using an anti-fogging solution called Kleer Vu, with a link showing the product and prices below.
