There was a city, far away.
Veiled by the fog, like the face of a beautiful, mysterious woman from lands beyond.
There was also a storm, perpetually situated high above the buildings. Striking blood-red rivers zigzagged through the clouds and rained their neon concoction like boiling oil over every skylight in the distance. Despite these mysterious cascades, the place was not flooded, and it wasn't raining. You wondered if you were breathing in this poison, and if the stuff was the cause of this hallucination because the dazzling metropolis simply could not be real.
There was a whirlpool in front of you. Jump into it? You would drown, of course. You wondered why there were stairs and a handle in it anyways.
It was either a pole-mounted sign or a voice in your head or a voice--You don't remember. Either way, it said, "Drink bottle to enter." Perhaps it would make you light as a feather, light enough for the roller coaster to carry you to that bright new place.
The bottle's innards ran red like veins, rose like a blush, blue like an aged man sitting alone and jaded in an empty bar. It was color-changing liquid: it would be bubble formula if you didn't swear that you saw things when you looked away. Mostly, it glittered like a child's toy. Sometimes it laughed at you. Whenever you decided for sure that you wanted to drink it, it would hiss and ripple, creating a mini-vortex within just like the whirlpool it came from. And when you tried to abandon the bottle and walk right into the city, you always ended up at this place in front of that dreaded whirlpool again.
All of this was proof that it was a dream. The city was not real. When you woke up, you would know. But what if you could never visit it again? What if this was your one chance to see what it was really all about, and if it was as fun and new and exciting as it looked?
"I suppose," You thought to yourself, uncorking the bottle and sniffing its cotton-candy contents. "Not everyone gets a chance to see this place."

More 3 to 5 in-the-morning art! =D Two hour speedpaint because I couldn't sleep. I decided that it would be fun to portray love as a place. It started out as a little pool and ended up as a city. WHOOPS.
Also HAVEN'T WRITTEN ANYTHING IN NARRATIVE FORM IN FOREVER. GAH IT IS SO UN-FLOWING. :P
