I instantly recognized what this was before I read the title. I have never seen the movie but I have read the book. Is the film that good?

The book is pretty good. It can a be a bit hard to read through since much of it is just Pi trying to survive in a boat with a tiger. It does have a lot of meaning in it, though.

There's a writer character in the movie and all of his framing dialogue is set up just to patronize the audience. The same goes for Pi's family in some instances, but both their roles and the writer's role are pretty minor. Besides that it's tons o' fun. The 3D glasses tended to mute the hell out of the colour palette though.

I actually really didn't enjoy this film at all. It got incredibly boring near the end, and a lot of the actors (including Pi) were terrible. Great visuals tho.

the only thing I really care in this movie is the Richard Parker are too skinny, I wish he can be stronger or fatter

The book had fantastic symbolism and other story telling elements. As a high school student it was a required reading for my school and I loved it. Have yet to see the movie.. want to tho! Maybe tomorrow!
