- I actually wrote this chapter on a train last March, while stuck in a snowstorm somewhere in New York.
- There was a real Tom that fictional Tom was based on. He wasn't in the furry fandom for very long... he liked fantasy roleplaying but the fetish stuff that dominates the images in furry galleries scared him off it for good. He was one of those rare true gentleman. Haven't talked to him in years. I miss him dearly.
- Yes, another character named Veronica. Veronica Plague from chapter one was named after Veronica Smithe from this chapter, though they are not related by blood and have never met. There's another story that covers that.

Well there are other stories (and comics) with the characters and setting in the future, but this particular story is only 5 chapters long. It covers how Veronica Plague (from the first chapter) and Thomas Icestorm (from this chapter) meet, as well as how Tom gets his magical sword.
