.... annndd the same picture as photographed under a UV light. UV-reactive ink was mixed in with the paint and applied in layers. The ink itself is completely colorless and dries clear, so it doesn't interfere with the color of the paint at all. It's completely invisible under normal light.
Unfortunately my camera washed everything out to BLUE, but the wings and stars are white and the moon is yellow. A lot of details were washed out of the sky, and the whole thing was completely overexposed. There's a lot more detail in real life vs. the photo. It's not all a blue mushy mess!
I think the UV is overwhelming the CCD in my camera, and I had to take literally a couple of dozen photos to even get it to come out like this. She was packed and mailed out to her owner, and this unfortunately is the best record of the blacklight appearance that I have.
Ink, watercolor, and acrylic on 8x10" watercolor paper.

They're really easy to work with, don't smell awful, and work into the paint without changing the color or texture. The only thing about them was mixing with the acrylic was a PITA so I may have to try out a different method to get opaque white (which may involve buying white UV paint instead of clear glows-white UV ink).
I may or may not have bought some Heart of Darkness, just because of the name. I was gonna ask if that's the ink you used, but someone else beat me to it. Noodler's does some pretty awesome stuff, and you get get ink samples for pretty damn cheap to play around with until you find exactly the one you want.
It's really nice ink, and I hope you like it! The only time I've ever had problems with it was when I put down too much on the page (my fault) or put it into a really picky fountain pen. I broke down and bought myself a Namiki Vanishing Point with an extra fine nib and the HoD works great in it! It's actually what I used to ink this picture with. I got the samples from Goulet Pens for a couple of bux - Whiteness of the Whale and Blue Ghost were used in this picture.
