Here is the fullbody model WIP! I only need to pose it and add more 3d feathers. You can notice the difference between 2d texture (on the leg) and alpha-planes (on the belly and side). Also i'll re-do the feathers on his tail because they're ugly!
Sadly I have to re-do all the feathers each time the model is posed, so it is more kind-of final work!
See you soon!

looks pretty good but, wouldn't it be easier to just use something like fur in maya rather than fighting zbrushes fur system? (im sure with proper tweeking you can get maya fur to look more feather-like)
Just tryin to throw out some options, hope you dont take it as criticism.

I think i've already taken care of it!
First... that is not any program-specific fur .
It is just a set of alpha-planes. Flat polygons with transparent texture, normal map and stuff like that. You can even export it to the game engine and it will work..
None of the existent fur solutions cant make proper feathers... I've done a lot of digging in that way. So, alpha planes! I think it the best way to do that.. also very old ^^
Also if I were doing just fur, it is very easy to export it from zbrush to just anywhere... maya, max, modo, blender... Everything supports at least one of the zbrush fibermesh export ways.

These ones? https://www.dropbox.com/s/eao695h21.....7iw3/holes.jpg I probably never seen something like that in any claws o.O' Thats why..
As I said, I'm waiting to see more advanced wip, or finished version :3

Im not a god in zbrush... im not even close to a professional...
And all that is rather simple. Check that out: http://www.creativebloq.com/3d-tips.....ng-tips-123707

They don't? why? It is ok to pose hi-detailed models.. not harder than lowres ones...
You should bake those details into a textue/normal/displacement maps first, but it is not necessary. You can just pose it on the lowest subdivision level then once posed raise it up. You can also make different layers so you can change the model symmetrically even after it's posed...

Well, you have to remember, I am using fibermesh for fur now. *giggles* Even my monster comp can't handle that kind of poly count. Well, unless I want to wait 5 minutes for every little wiggle. *chuckles* I suppose just the mane wouldn't be a big deal. I really need to learn how to make those displacement maps you speak of. It's on my to-do list just as soon as the commissions I've got now are out of the way. LOL.
I use everything! TPose master + zsphere rig + transpose + manual re-sculpting to be sure muscles are working properly (didn't do that part previously, but now I do!).
You can also TPose master then GOZ to modo (or maya) quickly rig it (heat map bone binding does a pretty good job!) and pose, then GOZ back to zbrush, Tpose to subtool and that's it!
