When I was about 10, we got a new dog and it was a female Englsh cocker spaniel. She was adorable, and they really are wonderful, intelligent dogs. The movie inspired my interest in the breed to begin with, and we had a number of wonderful years with her.
When she was a puppy, she even had a stripe straight down her back, though it faded as she got older. :)
