Haha, well, he still seems to be taking it better than I think my fiance would :b He sort of reminds me of the kid from Home Alone - it's just not quite Christmas without the proper trimmings to him.
Ironically, as much as he really doesn't care for deserts, we go camping in a pseudo-desert every year for summer :b

I have been to Arizona before, though got to say if I ever wen there around Christmas time I would have this expression quite rightly to. I as a yank, but even with no snow on the ground feel that if the temp are 40 or above in December, it is just not Christmas like, and a fake Christmas tree over cactus any day, though do quite love them Christmas cactus though, my father has one that is over 90 years old.
Well give or take some years, it was originally my grandmothers on my fathers side. She was born in 1903 or so I believe, and she got the cactus for her graduation, but was it graduation from elementary school and if she ever attended highschool in France before she moved to the US with her parents is debatable. She most likely got the plant in the US, bu if that is the truth, is unknown as they were exported to Europe as well in the 19th century till present day still, an as old as the plant is has over a 150 plus red blossoms that appear every year around now.
