This is my former gaming group... from beginning to end, there's Gerg, John, Drew (my brother) and Mandroid (I guess his real name is Matt). The comic is a parody of some Battlestar Galactica promos/commercials, where it seemed like the entire theme was someone was going to fuck something, die and be a cylon. Maybe even all the same person, I don't know. I just know that talking about that show resulted in me throwing up at Denny's.
Demon, by the way, is a White Wolf game. It is rather good.

If Firefly is a space-western, isn't it the epitome of ever Western Sci-fi which are in essence space-westerns themselves?
