V class Escort/Destroyer Airship- HMS Vampire Destroyer Airship

Mainly used as convoy escort and sometime used as depot tender airship.

Equipped with 4 Mark II single 4 inch canon, 5 single 4 inch cannon, 6 twin QF 2 pounder "Pom Pom" AA guns, 6 airtorpedo tube.

The name taken from the real HMAS Vampire that involved in operation Z that sank HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse in 10 December 1941 after got attacked by Japanese bomber and torpedo plane near to Malaysian sea. Eventually the destroyer was sunk in 9 April 1942 by Japanese aircraft while escorting the aircraft carrier HMS Hermes.

Well, as long the crew didn't do weird maneuvers ;3

This ship still can do several loops and tumbler roll side to side but not suitable to do a steep dive.

The original HMAS Vampire may be resting beneath the waves, but her descendant is still afloat and had the distinction of being the last big gun destroyer of the Royal Australian Navy. She is a museum ship in Darling Harbor in Sydney as part of the Sydney Maritime museum collection

All the V-Class destroyer didn't survive the war and mostly they all ended as scrap metal... Wish the original V-Class still around and can be used as design and research study. Although this Daring-class destroyer bear the same name as the original D68, the ma,e HMAS Vampire will be remembered as their honorary duty protecting both HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse in early of WW2.

yeah. Nice to see someone who acknowledges the Australian Involvement in WW2, from some of the things that people in the US and UK say, you would think that it was only the 'three major allied powers' against the enemy. And like i said, the HMAS Vampire on display is a descendant of the original to honor the name.
