I adopted this leetle guy on a different site.
Name: Symptom Swarm
(Responds to Symptom or Swarm)
Gender: Male
Age: Youngish~
Height:3'0'' SHORT.
Species: Alien
Personality: Symptom is a very affectionate little fuzzy alien. He gets lonely very easily and prefers to be in the company of others most of the time. He tends to make squeaky chirp noises when happy. Despite his friendly disposition, he's also relatively shy in initially meeting people. This comes from the fact its outgoing personality has gotten it in plenty of trouble with unsuspecting people who weren't accustomed to seeing a little tentacled alien trying to hug them. Since it brought forth plenty of negative results, Symptom is now cautious of new people he meets and appears almost reclusive. He is still obviously curious of them though and will often follow them at a safe distance. He refuses to talk to strangers anymore.
Trust is usually built with this little alien over time. Essentially if they’re nice to him and don’t freak out and yell at him he’ll warm up to them relatively quickly and once trust has been achieved, it doesn’t seem to matter what they do, the little alien has an undying loyal attachment to them. Either way Symptom is (unknowingly) rather socially awkward and not at all concerned about what others think of him.
Background: Symptom does not live with other aliens like himself. Most of his history is unknown because he does a horrible job of telling anyone what it is. From what anyone can gather, he is alone and was left behind.
In reality his memory of his past is pretty inaccurate. Symptom was given as a sort of peace offering to the people of the planet said alien race stumbled across. It was a well-meaning gesture, and they assumed said inhabitants would treasure their gift and take good care of him.
It was a pretty naïve thing to do, but fortunately for little Symptom, his story did not turn into a scientific experimentation nightmare. The little critter was actually given to a decent librarian who never publicized that they had a freaky alien roaming the library. He lived in the library, only showing himself at night for quite some time before too many rumors of the creature’s existence were being spread around.
So Symptom parted with his temporary parent figure and set out to find somewhere more rural and safe to live—whatever that meant. Long story short and a lot of random midadventures in the process he tends to wander from place to place now and has a particular fondness for being in libraries. He sneaks into them regularly and also gets kicked out regularly.
Random Facts:
He likes to sleep on stacks of books scattered about.

He loves hugs
He wears nothing but a blanket most of the time.
