I actually thought Pinkie without a mouth was kinda funny. I mean, yes it was mean, and it was a rotten thing for Trixie to do, but she just looked so silly!

Yeah!

It was also an animation in-joke; the ponies are Flash objects with separate mouth pieces so the animators can make them talk without having to replace the whole head. Trixie just deleted Pinkie's mouth object!
