WIP - Return to Turoth (aka I haven't disappeared, honest!)
Will move this to scraps once the finished work (and decent scan) are up.
Before you ask : Why post non finished work ?
When I came back to FA, I set myself the schedule of submitting something at least every 2 weeks. But since I've been working on paintings and writing recently, I haven't really had anything to post. Still, I know how my silly brain works. As Sam Vimes / Terry Pratchett once said, if you miss a deadline for a good reason, you'll miss it for a bad one.
So here are some non-finished, non-commission pieces I've been working on.
This is a 'personal' piece called Return to Turoth which will hopefully be finished soon. Like most of my non-commission work, it's full of errors I wouldn't tolerate on a sale piece but I've *really* enjoyed the process and learned a lot from it.
'Turoth' is a planet I imagined back when I was 16. It's populated mostly by very alien native species who never evolved eyes. Instead, they exploit the planet's thick atmosphere and utilize senses more closely related to that of our deep-sea fish.
BUT, because I was 16, it's also populated by colonist humans and their Magnathi (literally 'big jaw'). The Magnathi look like a cross between parasaurolophus, pscittacasaurus and generic Ornithischian because... hey.. I loved dinosaurs. I'm sure I'll do some more stuff on the Magnathus species. They might be cliche (OMFG, aliens that look liek dinosaurz!) but I'm still very fond of them.
Turoth & its denizens © Kim Edwards - for now, not creative commons since I want to get more stuff up describing the world before I turn it over to everyone.
