This is one of my old hamsters, Linus the red!
I sadly don't have any decent photos of my other hamsters. I bought this guy for breeding purposes, he had great lines and a great temper, but sadly he grew up to be whitebelly, so that was all shattered. (Breeding Whitebellies and Roans can result in babies being born without eyes, it's a bad mutation.)

They're lovely pets! Too bad you can't have them in the dorm >:
Well they're defect/mutated colors, which if mixed together or with each other can cause bad and painful defects/mutations, with the most common one being babies being born without eyes! I'm not really sure what causes it though!

they do~ especially when they like to cuddle, i've had four. (two short hair, two dwarfs). dwarfs love to climb and play monkeybars and are high energy tho x'D this was my last little babe https://www.furaffinity.net/view/8845269/

Aww what a cutie! :D Was she a Sandy Campbell?
Yeah exactly! :) Well I used to, but I don't anymore because I feel like I don't have the time for it these days! I used to breed rust and honey colored goldhamsters in different hairtypes, though mostly long haired ones! I also bred agouti colored Campbells and also pearl and white Russian whites! :)

wow! im not too familiar with hamster breeds (they dont have that many in pet stores so i cant remember what my first short haired ones were specifically) but that sounds pretty cool! o 0 o
and she was just a russian dwarf, you really cant see her gray here. she was my only hamster that wouldnt let you hold her. she jumped from your hands. i had an albino fancy russian dwarf before her that was much more cuddlier.(and male)

Ahh :) Yeah pet store hamsters can be a bit jumpy sometimes, it all depends on how much they've been handled before, there and in the new home! I always started petting the babies by day five (If it was a good mother that didn't care about my smell), so they would get used to being touched from an early age! My first hamster was an all white Russian dwarf, it took me two months of everyday handling to get her tame and not do kamikaze jumps from my hands XD But in the end it was really worth all the work! :) She became a lovely girl!
pffft lol! kamikaze jumps XD that is exatly what happens xD i usually sit on the floor though incase she did jump xD crazy hamster. and wow. I tried holding her often but it was a challenge to even get her out of the cage D : she ran from me like her life depended on it.
and do you think its just dwarf hamsters in general ? because they are so energetic?
my last two were dwarfs so when i look at normal hamsters im like LOOK HOW HUGE THEY ARE.
when i first got my little baby peanut from the store she slipped through her cage bars D : < she was so tiny!! i was like WHOAH SHI--
so we had to buy a tank until she got big enough to go in the cage LOL.
around how many weeks do you give the young away?

Haha yeah they're incredibly fast even though they're so small! :) Heh well, just like any other animal you can activate your hamsters and give them some brainwork, which is sure to make them tired! Like hiding small pieces of ham or sausage in the cage and let them search for them, they just looove that! :D
I sold them earliest at 4 weeks old! Younger than that isn't good, and over 5 weeks you shouldn't keep gold hamsters together, because they may start attacking each other by then. Dwarfs you can have together as long as you make sure you separate the males and females.. XD They get sexually mature around that age, and they're in heat every 3-4 day, so that stuff happens quickly.. xD
