A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
I Did this based on Panic At the Disco's album.
I was killing two birds with this one... personal and for homework.
One of the focuses on the assingment was SYMBOLISM.
So this picture if full of it. Panic! At the Disco's music is real energetic, and called A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. I concentrated on the word "Fever", which to me, is the feeling, the vibe you get when you let yourself get into the music.
So I did many things to emphasize this focus ["fever"] I decided to keep a black background to let the figures stand out in their multicolors. So everything black in this picture represents the ordinary and seperate from the "fever".
Continuing on my idea of "fever", I began to elaborate. When you're really getting into your music, if you let yourself, you'll slip into "fever," you LOSE yourself in your music....which leads to feelings of freedom, purity.... and in losing yourself in the music, I rolled along with this, and began on the idea of the lack of identity.
I portrayed this by leaving the man faceless and by NOT giving him a belly button.
Furthermore, I then began to think that, if "fever" metaphorically gave someone no identity, no face....IF IT DID have a face, what would it look like?
I Decided "fever" would look like a jacakl head. I chose the jackal because of their nocturnal habbits and their noisy nature. Those two features were perfect for what I was going.
The white flowing dotted lines is just the energy flow of "fever."
So the main concept behind the whole picture is this guy in the process of slipping into A Fever he Can't Sweat Out. Everything, from the colors, the business attire, the jackals, lack of belly button and a face... is all to encourage my concept of the feeling you get when you let yourself really get into your music; A Fever You Cant Sweat Out.
