Image 1 of 2.
Its been a rough few weeks for modeling, I start on something, stop when I get disatisfied with it, start on something else, end up not liking it either, go through that several times before deciding 'hell, lets make a rail rifle I know I won't like or finish.' Suprise, guess I finished it.
For those that remember, or care, this design is imiliar in design to my more recent Rail Driver model but in this ones case I decided to up the caliber, do a short helical mag and give an 'actual' scope a try with some decent level of detail. The scope has a dial near the back to adjust magnification and the standard dials for adjusting the scope itself. Probably the first scope I'd modeled that actually looks decent and not some cookie cutter type concotion.
The buttstock houses a small fusion battery, have to have enough juice to fire a full mags worth of rounds, wether its from a drum or some other type of mag. Started to make an alternate mag type but as I worked on it it fell out of favor and I decided to just go with this one.
And before I forget to mention the slugs it fires are more or less caseless 50bmg rounds. So consider it the most anti-material of anti-material rifles within fiction. Not sure how much it'd weigh, probably too much, oh and the magazine holds around 50-ish shots if my estimate is correct. so the shooter can pretty much not worry about reloading for a while, though having to carry another mag or two that size would be a pain in the ass. XD
