i would do at least two rubber straps (for connecting)

Two wide band elastic straps, and maybe a thick foam cap. 2inch deep and shaped to fit perfectly in the end of the tail, will give great support with the elastic straps. This is done with all of my larger tails.

I think most people attach it to some sort of waist strap, or a loop that you can put a belt through. I don't recommend sewing directly to a fullsuit (if you're doing one), since the weight will pull down on the fabric.

I'm working on my own suit too, haven't gotten up to the tail yet though :)

I was going to do the elastic but u wanted to make shure its going to work last time i did a big tail on a full suit it didnt stay at all
