Didn't wanna say this but my Street- Fighting friend Anthony has forced my words.......here it goes....(takes a deep breath)........
TERRY BOGARD CAN BEAT ANY FIGHTING CHARACTER.....ESPECIALLY BANDANA BOY (Ryu)!!

This conversation has been going on for years now between us on who is the better fighter...He keeps telling me that Ryu is this...He can do this...and that...and Bla Bla Bla...and I always tell him the one thing that shuts him up...

I had the same Conversation with my friend Fred Perry (of Gold Digger fame) @ a Convention in DC that made pretty good deal of sence...
Fred said (who was a Ryu fan(but I won't count that against Him)) that if it were a fight with no special moves involved (No Hadoukens or Power Waves) Ryu might have the advantage.
BUT..if it were a fight involving the Power Moves Terry would win Hands down.
Now the debate on who is the most powerful character in DragonBall is still up in the air...
..and soon I will draw out the MOST POWERFULL character in all of the DBZ series soon..
can u guess who it is.......stay tuned!!

I usually agree with you on everything Boss...but I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree on this one. Terry is indeed impressive when it comes to combat, but I hardly see him being a match for Ryu. Let's not forget that Terry did have a drinking problem at one point, surely his liver isn't what it used to be, not to mention Ryu is a martial arts Master. Terry, though trained, is mearly a street fighter (not Street Fighter, pun not intended). You say without powers Ryu would win, but even with them I see Ryu's ability vastly overshadowing that of Terry's. The Buster Wolf can't stand up again Shin-Hadoken-Cannon. Let's also not forget that Ryu is possess by the Dark Hado, which amplifies his strength thousands of times over.
PS: Goku is by far the strongest DBZ character, that's not up for discussion.
PSS: Even if Terry could beat Ryu, do you SERIOUSLY believe he could beat Akuma?

Dont Forget...Terry (while he was drunk) was able to beat the heavyweight Boxing Champion Axel Hawk.
..and the big one still is that Terry was able to defeat the God of War (kinda like Cratos =)all by himself. While Ryu could NOT beat M.Byson(Vega)a person with only super-powers, without the help of Ken Masters.
If Terry could beat the God of War..I think he can Handle an Evil Ryu.

Bison (I refuse to call him Vega) is something like a powerful diety himself. It's difficult to fight someone who can read your mind. Bison's psycho-powers, corrupts the mind and thus makes it fairly impossible to fight against. It's understandable that such assistance would be needed to fight someone of a potential as great as his. Indeed Terry was capable of beating a boxer while intoxicated, and beating the God of War, those are certainly great feets, but the God of War is still, at least on some level, human. As was Geese Howard who I believe beat Terry before. Terry, though powerful, also has human, and earthly limitations where as Ryu being something like a demon can have no limits to his power. As like the Incredible Hulk, the madder her becomes the more untapped and unparalleled his powers become. Yet, I still don't see the fight even having to escalate to that point.
PS: Has nothing to do with the discussion, but in the opening of KOF 2006, Ryo (not Ryu) kind of hands Terry his head too. He didn't seem that tough then.

Silverfenrir is going to eat this up. *laughs*I'm a Ryu fan myself. And I always kick my brothers ass when he uses Terry. Bandana Boy is my forte in the series, sorry.
But if I'm not controlling Ryu, yeah, I'd agree with ya. *grins* I love the Street Fighter Series...

As for Terry and Ryu, that's just SNK writers sulking about games. Anyone can write a character as more powerful, how about playing it? Thats right, Capcom vs, SNK battle. then you can truly tell who is the better. (or at least, who is more practiced)

Regardless of storyline powers, SNK characters are just all around better built than Capcom ones. Granted, I do love Capcom fighters, but SNKs guys are just so much better to play. Between Ryu, Guile and Chun Li vs. Terry, Ralph, and Blue Mary, I'll take the SNK guys any day. All I can think of to say beyond that is...

XD I was JUST about to ask you why you never posted any terry fan art before. I gotta like Terry. He has a more interesting backstory. But SNK must have thought Ryu was cool because that totaly ripped him off XD (See Ryo)

terry is teh ass kicking god machine. i can totally own my friend's ryu with terry ( and as a note, my friend is way better than me at fighting games, and i dont play like a noob either~) but when i use terry, he always manages to fall to me :P i think the game we played was... a yeah~ the name of the game is "Capcom vs. SNK 2" on the ps2~ (man that was a game~) i kick alot fo ass with the snk chars more than the capcom chars, i dont understand why either! my most fave char tehre though would have to be that guy in a white suit from rival schools (his name escapes me right now... darn it D:)

I still get a kick out of how the English voice actor for Laocorn says his name, tho'..."TEH-ry BOH-gahd..." LOL
...now Andy, however...I mean, forget his fighting style, how th' FUCK is he capable of IGNORING Mai Shiranui? The girl is one of THE most SCALDING HOT digital babes ever, is TOTALLY, MONOGAMOUSLY devoted to him, thinks the sun RISES and SETS on his CROTCH...and he ISN'T INTERESTED IN HER? Fuck, she'd have the ring, big ceremony, honeymoon in the fuckin' Bahamas in a hot second if it was anyone else...GEEZ. Maybe he's gay?
