The Ermin are well known for their use of semi-intelligent machines or autonomous systems, and often use such devices for ship maintenance and general utility work. The Scarabee-84 is one of the more advanced drones, one of the newer models at least. It is equipped primarily for in ship and near ship operations and is not outfitted for long range space flight or space combat, though they are equipped with security and guard algorithms and the equipment needed to perform that task. Drones are not self sufficient and run on battery power, which should be recharged by the ship's power grid every 120 hours or so.
