I may be wet, but my Martini is still dry! Color final.
This is the final color for the commission I did for The_MadBadger
The_Madbadger. It was one of the first pieces I did where I was truly happy with how the sky turned out, But more important I was very happy with how the water turned out. Especially how you can see Rosemary's tail below the surface along with the rocks. The wet clothes came out not bad either.

Thank you on the water. I spent a LOT of time studying sources before I started. Especially since I had effectively one shot to get it right our it would not look correct. The long lever is a bit of a bastard child since I didn't want a carbine but a full-length rifle would almost be a big as her. So I created what would be like a serganent's rifle from the flintlock era for the piece. Glad you liked it!
Oh that is a really pity since there are several companies offering fresh ammo for those now. I have thought on several occassions of doing a piece in Hong Kong circa 1920's. If I did it I wanted to be a picture involving the local constabularies and Tong gang members. It would have Greener Police Guns and Broomhandle Mausers in it!
Yeah the only C96 I got trigger time with was a refurbished 9mm that had gotten some real TLC poured over it. Grips were definitely less that desirable, pretty but sucky ergos, but metalwork top-shelf and the owner had paid to have it refinished in proper slow-rust blue finish. The type that looks as deep as space.
I would say that this peice is top grade. As you said the water came out in my mind perfect. The contrasts are realistic. The visibility of the rocks along with the tail being partial submerged but still visibal adds a wonderfull depth to the peice. This is one to be proud of for sure.
When ’arf of your bullets fly wide in the ditch,
Don’t call your Martini a cross-eyed old bitch;
She’s human as you are—you treat her as sich,
An’ she’ll fight for the young British soldier.

Actually our friend The_Madbadger
The_Madbadger does not have a copy of it on his wall; he has the original since he was the client who commissioned it. ;)
