Concept story for two of my characters.
"There won't be much love to feed on there, trust me. I would know." The pale Alicorn had stood her ground for almost 36 hours now, trying to convince the changeling prince of guiding his people away from her fathers kingdom.
He had only laughed, mocked and taunted her in the last 24 of them, but it seemed that he had finally grown tired of her persistence behaviour.
"You bore me, besides it is only my mother that could ever command my people. Why didn't you go to her instead?"
The Alicorn had known from the beginning that the changeling queen would never be an option, and she had found herself correct when she couldn't even get a meeting arranged with the queen.
"You seemed like a much more reasonable pony to have this conversation with."
The changeling gave her another mocking grin.
"Oh Aura! You of all ponies would know that I am!" he gave her a quick nudge on the shoulder, messing up the feathers of her wing.
"But it doesn't change anything that you would, as I said, I don't make the rules. I just obey."
He gave her a smile. What reason could he ever have to smile at her like that? He knew the changelings intensions, he knew what would happen. They would come, feast and leave. Nothing but darkness left.
"Please Tarrant..I beg of you. Talk to her!" Aura found herself crying now, how foolish of her. She knew that Tarrant would take advantage of her desperation. She knew him that well.
Tarrant frowned, but didn't say anything.
After several painful minutes he spoke, and his voice was as cold as the grave.
"My mother would never injure or attack an ally. You know that. It would be too risky for her."
Aura stopped crying. At first she didn't understand, but then her heart skipped a beat.
"You feed on love Tarrant, something I could never offer the likes of you."
He gave her a comforting nudge on the shoulder again.
"But you do love your people, right?"
She looked at him, crying once again.
"But.. what's in it for you? Your mothers respect was never what you wanted, then.."
He silenced her with his magic, the green dust almost piercing her heart as it sucked on one particular piece of it.
She closed her eyes, wincing a little.
"A deal it is then..don't make me regret it Tarrant."
